Superintendent’s Message

Welcome to Willits Unified School District.  On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I am proud to welcome you to our district where each day we work together to reach our goal to prepare students for the 21st century.  Thank you for visiting our district website.  The website contains many valuable resources for parents, students and the community.

Since our district's inception in April 1961, proud traditions have been established which are the key to the success of our students.  This is evidenced in the fact that many alumni return to the Willits area to raise their children, work and partner with the school district for the success of future generations.

A strong sense of connectedness to our environment, and the preservation of our lifestyle for future generations, is found in the programs supported within our schools.  Parents, community and area businesses are key members of our district culture.  Their commitment to fund raising, volunteer activities, involvement in schools and in the lives of students, play a significant role in our student's success.

If your goal is to have your student grow up and learn in a safe and small learning environment where the teachers and staff care about the student success and will work to find and an avenue to achieve that success, come and join us in the Willits Unified School District for an education that is second to none.

I encourage you to review the Willits Unified School District belief statements, vision statement and mission statement to get a sense of what our district is all about, and what we hope to achieve in the future. Have a great school year!

With warm regards,

Patricia R. Johnson
